Gulf & Atlantic Names Kristin Bevil as General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Gulf & Atlantic Railways (www.garailways.com) has named
veteran transportation attorney Kristin Bevil as general counsel and chief legal officer to
represent the holding company and its two rail lines: the 430-mile Florida, Gulf & Atlantic
Railroad and 228-mile Grenada Railroad.

Bevil brings to Gulf & Atlantic a wealth of experience in short-line and regional
railroading. She most recently served as general counsel for Pioneer Lines, joining that firm
in 2019 to assist in managing 15 short-line carriers from time of acquisition through
divestiture in 2022, when Pioneer Lines was acquired by Patriot Rail.

Prior to her role at Pioneer Lines, Bevil was the first general counsel for the Indiana
Rail Road Company, joining the regional railroad in 2014 and advising on legal matters that
included litigation, governance, regulatory compliance, labor relations, and commercial
transactions.

Bevil began her career in Chicago with the law firm Fletcher & Sippel, LLC, advising
Class I, regional, and short-line clients in the Midwest. She currently serves on the board of
directors of the American Short Line and Regional Railroads Association (ASLRRA) as vice
president, Central Region, and she is a member of ASLRRA’s executive committee.

Throughout her career she also has been involved in Operation Lifesaver (OL), the
rail industry’s non-profit safety initiative. She has served as vice chair for Indiana Operation
Lifesaver, as well as an OL authorized volunteer.

Bevil earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and her law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
