Todd Marklin

Vice President Engineering

Todd Marklin joined Gulf & Atlantic Railways in November of 2022 as the Vice President of Engineering. In this capacity, he has responsibility for Gulf & Atlantic’s infrastructure, leading the maintenance and improvement of signal, tracks, bridges and crossings and oversees the design and construction of new projects.

Mr. Marklin is a seasoned rail industry expert, beginning his career over 24 years ago with CSX, a Class 1 carrier. He has served in various engineering and leadership roles throughout the south and southeast divisions for CSX, and later, Colorado-based OmniTRAX, Kansas-based Watco and South Carolina-based Palmetto Railways. Most recently, Mr. Marklin served as the Vice President of Engineering with Pioneer Lines where he led all strategic initiatives to improve the company’s infrastructure.

Mr. Marklin’s rail experience also extends to the Federal Government, where he spent five years with the Federal Railroad Administration leading derailment investigative teams as well as enforcement of Regulatory compliance throughout his region. His contributions resulted in significant reductions of track-caused derailments and accidents throughout the country.

Mr. Marklin holds his Railroad Construction Project Management Certificate from the University of Wisconsin and is an active member of The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA).
